The community of Ranchlands is located in NW Calgary bounded by Nose Hill Drive NW to the west, John Laurie Blvd to the north, Crowchild Trail NW to the south and Sarcee Trail to the east. The population of Ranchlands was 7,926 in 3,001 homes according to the 2014 city census. 65% of homes were owner occupied.

The vast majority of attached and detached homes in Ranchlands were built in the 1970’s and 1980’s. A new apartment complex was built in 2009. Local programs are offered via the Ranchlands Community Association.
